Śrī–Indra–Bali Saṃvāda: The Departure and Fourfold Placement of Lakṣmī

He said: “That for which one practices dharma, and that which is obtained when the fruits of action arise—the enjoyments of this world or the next—are not lasting. One should not place one’s faith in them. They are delusive, shifting, and unstable.”
