अध्याय २०८ — इन्द्रियनिग्रहः, सत्याहिंसात्मकवाक्, कर्मफलविवेकः
Restraint of the Senses, Non-harming Truthful Speech, and Discernment of Karmic Consequence
एते ब्रह्मर्षयो नित्यमास्थिता दक्षिणां दिशम् उन्मुच, विमुच, बलवान स्वस्त्यात्रेय, प्रमुच, इध्मवाह, दृढ़तापूर्वक उत्तम व्रतका पालन करनेवाले मित्रावरुणके प्रतापी पुत्र भगवान् अगस्त्य--ये ब्रह्मर्षि सदा दक्षिण दिशामें रहते हैं
ete brahmarṣayo nityam āsthitā dakṣiṇāṁ diśam—unmuca, vimuca, balavān, svastyātreya, pramuca, idhmavāha, dṛḍhatāpūrvakaṁ uttama-vrata-pālanakārī mitrāvaruṇayoḥ pratāpī putro bhagavān agastya—ete brahmarṣayaḥ sadā dakṣiṇa-diśi vasanti.
Bhishma said: “These Brahmarishis ever abide in the southern quarter—Unmucha, Vimucha, the mighty Balavān, Svastyātreya, Pramucha, Idhmavāha, and Dṛḍhatāpūrvaka; and also the illustrious sage Agastya, the powerful son of Mitra and Varuṇa, steadfast in the observance of the highest vows. These Brahmarishis dwell always in the southern direction.”
