Adhyāya 2: Nārada’s Disclosure—Karṇa’s Training and the Brahmin’s Curse (Śānti-parva)
स तत्रेष्वस्त्रमकरोद् भगुश्रेष्ठाद् यथाविधि । प्रियश्चाभवदत्यर्थ देवदानवरक्षसाम्
sa tatreṣv astram akarod bhaguśreṣṭhād yathāvidhi | priyaś cābhavad atyartha devadānavarakṣasām ||
Nārada said: There, in due and proper form, he obtained the missile-weapon from the foremost of the Bhṛgus. Thereafter he became exceedingly dear to the gods, the Dānavas, and the Rākṣasas—suggesting that disciplined learning and rightful conduct can win regard even among mutually opposed powers.
