Varṇa-lakṣaṇa and Ātma-saṃyama (Marks of Social Conduct and Self-Restraint) | वर्णलक्षणम् एवं आत्मसंयमः

बालो युवा च वृद्धश्व यत् करोति शुभाशुभम् | तस्यां तस्यामवस्थायां तत् फलं प्रतिपद्यते
Transliteration
bālo yuvā ca vṛddhaś ca yat karoti śubhāśubham | tasyāṃ tasyām avasthāyāṃ tat phalaṃ pratipadyate ||
Translation
Bhishma said: “Whether one is a child, a youth, or an old man—whatever good or evil he does, in that very stage of life he comes to experience its corresponding result. The moral weight of action is not postponed by age; its fruit meets a person within the condition in which it is performed.”
