मसहाभारत&«>«» काश्यप ब्राह्मणके प्रति गीदड़के रूपमें इन्द्रका उपदेश इन्द्रको पहचाननेपर काश्यपद्वारा उनकी पूजा मनुष्ययोनिमिच्छन्ति सर्वभूतानि सर्वशः । मनुष्यत्वे च विप्रत्व॑ं सर्व एवाभिनन्दति,“मुने! सभी प्राणी सब प्रकारसे मनुष्ययोनि पानेकी इच्छा रखते हैं। उसमें भी ब्राह्मणत्वकी प्रशंसा तो सभी लोग करते हैं

manuṣya-yonim icchanti sarva-bhūtāni sarvaśaḥ | manuṣyatve ca vipratvaṁ sarva evābhinandati ||

Bhishma said: “O sage, all beings in every way long to attain birth as a human. And even among human births, everyone praises and celebrates the state of being a brahmin.”
