Ajagara-vrata (The ‘Python’ Discipline): Prahrāda Questions a Wandering Sage

tasya nityaṁ sadā āṣāḍhyāṁ māghyāṁ ca bahavo dvijāḥ | īpsitaṁ bhojana-varaṁ labhante satkṛtaṁ sadā ||

Bhishma said: At his house, on the full-moon days of Āṣāḍha and Māgha, many Brahmins would regularly receive, with respectful hospitality, excellent food exactly as they desired. The passage highlights the ethical ideal of steady generosity—timely, reverent giving to worthy recipients as a lived expression of dharma.
