उदतिष्ठत संघर्षात्‌ सुमहान्‌ हव्यवाहन: । तद्‌ वन॑ वृक्षसम्पूर्ण लताविटपसंकुलम्‌

Transliteration

udatiṣṭhata saṅgharṣāt sumahān havyavāhanaḥ | tad vanaṁ vṛkṣasampūrṇaṁ latāviṭapasaṅkulam ||

Translation

Bhishma said: From the violent friction there rose a very great fire, the carrier of oblations. That forest—dense with trees and tangled with creepers and branching thickets—was seized by the blaze, showing how unchecked force can swiftly consume even what seems abundant and secure.
