The Dialogue of Śalmali and Pavana
yaś cedaṃ śṛṇuyān nityaṃ yaś cedaṃ parikīrtayet | nāśubhaṃ vidyate tasya manasāpi pramādataḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: Whoever listens to this account daily, and whoever recites or proclaims it, for that person no inauspiciousness arises—even in the mind—through heedlessness. The teaching affirms the purifying, protective power of regular hearing and recitation: disciplined attention to dharma-bearing discourse guards one from moral lapse and its harmful consequences.
