Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)
क्षत्रिये संगतं नास्ति न प्रीतिर्न च सौहदम् । कारणात् सान्त्वयन्त्येते कृतार्था: संत्यजन्ति च,'क्षत्रियमें संगति निभानेकी भावना नहीं होती। उसमें न प्रेम होता है, न सौहार्द। ये किसी हेतु या स्वार्थसे ही दूसरोंको सान्त्वना देते हैं। जब इनका काम निकल जाता है, तब ये आश्रित व्यक्तिको त्याग देते हैं
kṣatriye saṅgataṃ nāsti na prītir na ca sauhṛdam | kāraṇāt sāntvayante te kṛtārthāḥ saṃtyajanti ca ||
Bhishma said: “In a kṣatriya there is no steadfast sense of keeping companionship; there is neither genuine affection nor true goodwill. They offer consolation only for some motive or advantage, and once their purpose is achieved, they abandon the dependent person.”
