Āśā-prabhava (आशाप्रभव) — On the Rise and Power of Hope/Expectation

ब्राह्मणकी इस बातसे राजा प्रह्नलादको बड़ी प्रसन्नता हुई। उन्होंने “तथास्तुट कहकर उसकी बात मान ली और शुभ समयमें उसे ज्ञानका तत्त्व प्रदान किया ।। ब्राह्मणो5पि यथान्यायं गुरुवृत्तिमनुत्तमाम् । चकार सर्वभावेन यदस्य मनसेप्सितम्,ब्राह्मणने भी उनके प्रति यथायोग्य परम उत्तम गुरु-भक्तिपूर्ण बर्ताव किया और उनके मनकी रुचिके अनुसार सब प्रकारसे उनकी सेवा की
brāhmaṇakī is bāt se rājā prahrādako baṛī prasannatā huī | unhoṃne “tathāstu” kahakar uskī bāt mān lī aura śubha samaya meṃ use jñāna-kā tattva pradāna kiyā || brāhmaṇo ’pi yathānyāyaṃ guru-vṛttim anuttamām | cakāra sarva-bhāvena yad asya manasepsitam ||
Hearing the brāhmaṇa’s words, King Prahlāda was greatly delighted. Saying, “So be it,” he accepted the request and, at an auspicious time, imparted to him the essential principle of true knowledge. The brāhmaṇa too, in accordance with propriety, conducted himself toward the king with the finest, teacher-like devotion and, with wholehearted intent, served him in every way that pleased his mind.
