Āśā-prabhava (आशाप्रभव) — On the Rise and Power of Hope/Expectation
Sumitra Itihāsa Begins
ततः प्रीतो5भवद् राजा प्रह्ादो ब्रह्मवादिन: । तथेत्युक्त्वा शुभे काले ज्ञानतत्त्वं ददौ तदा
tataḥ prīto 'bhavad rājā prahlādo brahmavādinaḥ | tathety uktvā śubhe kāle jñāna-tattvaṃ dadau tadā ||
Then King Prahlāda, pleased with the brahma-vādin (the speaker of sacred truth), replied, “So be it.” At an auspicious moment, he imparted the essential principle of true knowledge—affirming that instruction should be given with goodwill, at the right time, and in a spirit aligned with dharma.
