Thus ends the one hundred and seventh chapter, dealing with the conduct and governance of a republican polity, within the Rājadharmānuśāsana section of the Śānti Parva of the revered Mahābhārata. The close of the chapter signals the completion of Bhīṣma’s instruction on how collective rule must be guided by discipline, lawful procedure, and ethical restraint so that power serves the common good rather than factional interest.

This closing colophon points to the chapter’s focus: ethical and disciplined conduct in a gaṇarājya (assembly-based polity). The implied teaching is that collective governance must be anchored in dharma—procedural fairness, unity, restraint, and prioritizing the common welfare over factional gain.
The text is a concluding statement marking the end of Adhyāya 107 within the Rājadharmānuśāsana portion of Śānti Parva. It signals that Bhīṣma’s discourse on the practical conduct of a republican state has been completed.
