भীমेन युधिष्ठिरस्य त्यागवृत्तेः प्रतिषेधः

Bhīma’s Rebuttal of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Renunciatory Inclination

आददानस्यथ चेद्‌ राज्यं ये केचित्‌ परिपन्थिन: । हन्तव्यास्त इति प्राज्ञा: क्षत्रधर्मविदो विदु:,क्षत्रिय-धर्मके ज्ञाता विद्वान्‌ पुरुष यह जानते और बताते हैं कि अपना राज्य ग्रहण करते समय जो कोई भी उसमें बाधक या विरोधी खड़े हों, उन्हें मार डालना चाहिये

Transliteration

ādadānasya atha ced rājyaṃ ye kecit paripanthinaḥ | hantavyās ta iti prājñāḥ kṣatradharmavido viduḥ ||

Translation

Bhīma said: “When a king is in the act of taking up (or reclaiming) his sovereignty, whoever stands in the way as an obstructer or hostile opponent—such men, the wise who know the kṣatriya code declare, are to be slain.”
