Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)

वे घोर तपस्यासे युक्त महाभागा तपस्विनी गान्धारी देवीका चिन्तन करने लगे। उन्होंने सोचा “गान्धारी देवी कुपित होनेपर तीनों लोकोंको जलाकर भस्म कर सकती हैं' ।। तस्य चिन्तयमानस्य बुद्धि: समभवत् तदा | गान्धार्या: क्रोधदीप्ताया: पूर्व प्रशमनं भवेत्
Translation
Thinking of the great, ascetic Gandhārī, joined to dreadful tapas, he reflected: “If Queen Gandhārī becomes enraged, she can burn the three worlds to ashes.” As he pondered thus, it came to his mind that her blazing wrath must first be pacified.
