अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्

Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report

ये वयं न गताः: स्वर्ग त्वां पुरस्कृत्य पार्थिवम्‌ । “मुझको, कृतवर्माको तथा महारथी कृपाचार्यको भी धिक्‍्कार है कि हम आप-जैसे महाराजको आगे करके स्वर्गलोकमें नहीं गये ।। ३४ $ ।। दातारं सर्वकामानां रक्षितारं प्रजाहितम्‌

ye vayaṁ na gatāḥ svargaṁ tvāṁ puraskṛtya pārthivam | dātāraṁ sarvakāmānāṁ rakṣitāraṁ prajāhitam ||

Sañjaya said: “Shame on us—that we did not attain heaven with you, O king, placed at our head. You were the giver of every desired boon and the protector devoted to the welfare of the people.”
