उनकी यह दशा देखकर कृष्णा क्रोध और दु:खमें डूब गयी। वह तिरस्कारके योग्य कदापि न थी, तो भी कौरवोंकी सभामें दुर्योधन और कर्णने उसे कटु वचन सुनाये ।। इति सर्वमिदं राजन्नाकुलं प्रतिभाति मे । राजन! ये सारी बातें मुझे महान् दुःखको निमन्त्रण देनेवाली जान पड़ती हैं
tāṃ tathāvasthāṃ dṛṣṭvā kṛṣṇā krodha-duḥkhābhyāṃ nimagnābhavat | sā kadācit tiraskāra-yogyā naivāsīt, tathāpi kaurava-sabhāyāṃ duryodhana-karṇābhyāṃ kaṭu-vacanāni śrāvitā | iti sarvam idaṃ rājan ākulaṃ pratibhāti me | rājan, etāḥ sarvāḥ kathā mahad-duḥkha-nimantreṇīva me pratibhānti |
Seeing her in that condition, Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) sank into anger and grief. She was never deserving of contempt; yet in the Kauravas’ assembly Duryodhana and Karṇa hurled bitter words at her. “O King,” says Sañjaya, “all this appears to me confused and ominous—an invitation to great sorrow.”
