Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 68 — Pāṇḍavānāṃ Vanavāsa-prasthānaḥ; Duḥśāsana-nindā; Pāṇḍava-pratijñāḥ
शशाप तत्र भीमस्तु राजमध्ये बृहत्स्वन: । क्रोधाद् विस्फुरमाणौष्ठो विनिष्पिष्य करे करम्,उस समय वहाँ बड़ा भयंकर कोलाहल मच गया। जगतमें यह अद्भुत दृश्य देखकर सब राजा द्रौपदीकी प्रशंसा और दुःशासनकी निन्दा करने लगे। उस समय वहाँ समस्त राजाओंके बीच हाथ-पर-हाथ मलते हुए भीमसेनने क्रोधसे फड़कते हुए ओठोंद्वारा भयंकर गर्जनाके साथ यह शाप दिया (प्रतिज्ञा की)
vaiśampāyana uvāca | śaśāpa tatra bhīmas tu rājamadhye bṛhatsvanaḥ | krodhād visphuramāṇauṣṭho viniṣpiṣya kare karam ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Then, in the midst of the assembled kings, Bhīma—raising a thunderous voice—uttered a curse, his lips quivering with anger, grinding one hand against the other. The scene underscores a public moral rupture: the outrage of the righteous at an act of humiliation, and the resolve to answer adharma with a vowed retribution that will later shape the course of war.
