भीम उवाच इदं मे वाक्यमाददध्वं क्षत्रिया लोकवासिन: । नोक्तपूर्व नरैरन्यैर्न चान्यो यद् वदिष्यति
bhīma uvāca idaṃ me vākyam ādadadhvaṃ kṣatriyā lokavāsinaḥ | noktapūrvaṃ narair anyair na cānyo yad vadiṣyati ||
Bhima said: “Kshatriyas who dwell in this world, take up and heed this statement of mine. It is something not spoken before by other men, nor will anyone else speak what I am about to say.”
भीम उवाच
Bhima frames his words as a public, duty-oriented admonition: Kshatriyas must be attentive to decisive counsel and uphold standards of honor and responsibility. The verse emphasizes the gravity of speech when it is presented as unprecedented and binding on a warrior community.
In the Sabha Parva context, Bhima is addressing an audience identified as Kshatriyas and ‘world-dwellers,’ calling them to listen carefully. He signals that he is about to make a striking, exceptional declaration—setting up a forceful statement meant to influence conduct and judgment in the unfolding political crisis.
