Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 68 — Pāṇḍavānāṃ Vanavāsa-prasthānaḥ; Duḥśāsana-nindā; Pāṇḍava-pratijñāḥ

नच मे तत्र कोपो5भूत्‌ सर्वस्येशो हि नो भवान्‌ । इमं त्वतिक्रमं मन्ये द्रौपदी यत्र पण्यते,किंतु इसके लिये मेरे मनमें क्रोध नहीं हुआ; क्योंकि आप हमारे सर्वस्वके स्वामी हैं। पर द्रौपदीको जो दाँवपर लगाया गया, इसे मैं बहुत ही अनुचित मानता हूँ

na ca me tatra kopo 'bhūt, sarvasyeśo hi no bhavān | imaṁ tv atikramaṁ manye draupadī yatra paṇyate ||

“Even then, no anger arose in my heart, for you are indeed the lord of all that is ours. Yet I deem this a grave transgression—that Draupadī was staked as a wager.”
