Vaiśampāyana said: O king, the messenger went swiftly to Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī)’s residence and, being prudent, reported to her the firm and settled decision of Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights ethical communication: a messenger must convey a ruler’s settled decision accurately and promptly. It also reflects the seriousness of Dharmarāja’s (Yudhiṣṭhira’s) resolved judgment, implying responsibility both in deciding and in transmitting that decision.
A messenger hastens to Draupadī’s residence and informs her of Yudhiṣṭhira’s firmly determined decision. The scene functions as a narrative link, moving the consequences of the king’s decision into Draupadī’s sphere.
