Bhīṣma–Śiśupāla-saṃvādaḥ

Bhishma and Shishupala’s exchange in the assembly

Śiśupāla said: “O Bhīṣma, if in his childhood he killed but a bird (Bakāsura), or slew Keśī the horse and Ariṣṭāsura the bull—creatures wholly unskilled in the arts of war—what is astonishing in that?”
