Adhyāya 39: Śiśupāla’s Censure and Bhīma’s Contained Wrath (शिशुपाल-निन्दा तथा भीमक्रोध-निग्रहः)
अदृश्यरूपा वाचश्चाप्यब्रुवन् साधु साध्विति । उस समय सहदेवके मस्तकपर आकाशसे फूलोंकी वर्षा होने लगी और अदृश्यरूपसे खड़े हुए देवताओंने 'साधु', 'साधु” कहकर उनके सत्साहसकी प्रशंसा की
adṛśyarūpā vācaścāpyabruvan sādhu sādhviti |
Vaiśampāyana said: Invisible voices exclaimed, “Well done! Well done!” At that moment a shower of flowers fell from the sky upon Sahadeva’s head, and unseen gods, standing there, praised his righteous courage.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Actions grounded in dharma and undertaken with steadfast courage are worthy of praise; the narrative frames ethical resolve as something that can receive even divine affirmation.
As Sahadeva acts or speaks with notable righteous boldness, flowers rain down from the sky and unseen gods applaud him, saying “sādhu, sādhu,” signaling approval and auspiciousness.
