Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
इति श्रीमहाभारते सभापर्वणि जरासंधवधपर्वणि कृष्णजरासंधसंवादे एकविंशो5ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate sabhāparvaṇi jarāsandhavadha-parvaṇi kṛṣṇa-jarāsandha-saṁvāde ekaviṁśo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends the twenty-first chapter in the Sabhā Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the section on the slaying of Jarāsandha, in the dialogue between Kṛṣṇa and Jarāsandha.
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
As a colophon, the line itself teaches by framing: it signals that the preceding dialogue is to be read as a complete ethical unit—speech and reasoning (saṁvāda) guiding action in matters of kingship, justice, and the use of force.
This is the chapter-ending colophon: it announces that the twenty-first chapter has concluded, situated in Sabhā Parva, within the Jarāsandha-slaying episode, specifically the dialogue between Kṛṣṇa and Jarāsandha.
