Jarāsandha as Obstacle to the Rājasūya — Kṛṣṇa’s Strategic Genealogical Brief

Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 13

Vaiśampāyana said: “Let what ought to be given be given to everyone—casting off both anger and pride.” In that realm, one heard nothing else spoken except repeated praise: “Well done—dharma! dharma!”

Educational Q&A

A ruler (and by extension any moral agent) should ensure rightful giving—charity, dues, and obligations—while abandoning anger and pride; such self-mastery supports a social order where dharma is publicly affirmed.

Vaiśampāyana describes an idealized atmosphere of governance: the instruction is to distribute what is due to all, free from wrath and arrogance, and the prevailing public speech is continual praise of dharma.
