Educational Q&A

Before pursuing power-affirming acts like the Rājasūya, a dharmic ruler should repeatedly reflect and form a settled intention, ensuring that ambition is guided by responsibility, legitimacy, and ethical restraint.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, regarded as the foremost among the Kurus, repeatedly considers the matter and then resolves to undertake the Rājasūya sacrifice, setting the stage for the political and ritual developments of the Sabha Parva.
