Nārada said: In that royal assembly, many divine mothers and goddesses—Aditi, Diti, Danu, Surasā, Vinatā, Irā, Kālikā, Surabhī, Saramā, Gautamī, Prabhā, and Kadrū—along with Rudrāṇī, Śrī (Lakṣmī), Bhadrā, Aparā, Ṣaṣṭhī, Pṛthivī, and Gaṅgā who has descended upon the earth, and also Lajjā, Svāhā, Kīrti, Surādevī, Śacī, Puṣṭi, Arundhatī, Saṃvṛtti, Āśā, Niyati, the goddess of Creation (Sṛṣṭi), Rati, and other goddesses, were engaged in reverent worship of Prajāpati Brahmā. The scene underscores that even the highest celestial powers are ordered by devotion and humility before the cosmic source, affirming reverence as a foundation of righteous conduct.
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights that even exalted divine powers and personified virtues (like modesty, fame, hope, destiny) are oriented toward worship of the cosmic progenitor, implying that dharma is grounded in humility, reverence, and recognition of a higher sustaining order.
Nārada describes the grandeur of the assembly hall by listing numerous divine mothers and goddesses present there, all engaged in worship of Prajāpati Brahmā, thereby emphasizing the hall’s sanctity and the presence of celestial beings.
