Chapter 6: Dāruka’s Report; Arjuna Witnesses Dvārakā’s Desolation (दारुकवृत्तान्तः—अर्जुनस्य द्वारकादर्शनम्)

so 'haṃ tau ca mahātmānau cintayan bhrātarau tava, tapase me tumhāre donoṃ bhāī mahātmā balarāma aur śrīkṛṣṇakā tathā kuṭumbījanonke is ghora saṃhārakā cintana karke śokase galatā jā rahā hūṃ. mujhse bhojana nahīṃ kiyā jātā. ab maiṃ na to bhojana karūṃgā aur na is jīvanako hī rakhūṃgā. pāṇḍunandana! saubhāgyakī bāta hai ki tuma yahāṃ ā gaye

Vasudeva said: “As I keep thinking of those two great-souled ones—your brothers—and of the dreadful destruction of our kinsmen, I am wasting away in grief. I cannot bring myself to eat. Now I will neither take food nor even preserve this life. O son of Pāṇḍu, it is a piece of good fortune that you have come here.”
