Vasudeva said: “He will surely come here very soon; I have no doubt about it. The message must already have reached Arjuna. When that mighty son of Kuntī hears this news of the destruction of the Yadu line, he will hasten here at once. On this matter, I can think of no other outcome.”

The verse underscores the inevitability of consequences and the swift unfolding of fate after the collapse of a lineage; it also reflects moral certainty—Vasudeva’s conviction that Arjuna, bound by duty and kinship, will respond immediately upon hearing of the Yadus’ destruction.
In the Mausala Parva’s aftermath, Vasudeva anticipates Arjuna’s imminent arrival, reasoning that the news of the Yadu clan’s annihilation has already reached him and that Arjuna will rush to the scene without delay.
