Vasudeva said: “Recognize Govinda—the sinless, divine, unfailing Lord, Acyuta. That all-pervading Adhokṣaja, though fully aware, silently witnessed the destruction of his own kinsmen.”
वसुदेव उवाच
The verse frames Kṛṣṇa as sinless and infallible, yet allowing the destined collapse of His own clan. Ethically, it highlights the tension between divine sovereignty and the unfolding of karma: even the Lord may permit painful outcomes when they are the ripening of collective deeds and the closure of a cosmic purpose.
Vasudeva addresses others, urging them to recognize Kṛṣṇa’s true divine identity (Govinda/Acyuta/Adhokṣaja). In the Mausala narrative, the Yādavas are being destroyed; Kṛṣṇa, fully aware and all-pervading, does not intervene and instead witnesses the kinsmen’s annihilation as an inevitable culmination.
