Sañjaya said: “You are fully instructed in the laws of righteous warfare. Having completed the sacrifice that is the study of Vedānta, you have, as it were, performed the concluding purificatory bath. You possess knowledge of divine weapons; your inner strength is immeasurable; and on the battlefield you are as mighty as Kārtavīrya Arjuna.”

The verse links martial excellence with ethical discipline: true battlefield prowess is grounded in knowledge of yuddha-dharma (righteous rules of war) and in inner purification symbolized by completing Vedānta-study as a ‘sacrifice’ culminating in the avabhṛtha bath.
Sañjaya addresses a Pāṇḍava (Pāṇḍunandana), praising him as learned in the codes of war, spiritually refined through Vedāntic study, skilled in divine weapons, and equal in battle to the legendary Kārtavīrya Arjuna.
