Sañjaya said: Arjuna, the diadem-crowned warrior, forcefully pierced Karna, Shalya, and all the Kurus with his arrows. Then the crown-bearing Arjuna, rubbing the bowstring against his hand, struck at Karna’s hand-guard and, in an instant, spread a net of arrows that darkened the field. Thereafter he wounded Karna, Shalya, and the entire Kaurava host with irresistible volleys.
