न चाभिसर्तव्यमिति प्रचोदिता: परे त्वदीयाश्व॒ तथावतस्थिरे

Transliteration

na cābhisartavyam iti pracoditāḥ pare tvadīyāś ca tathāvat tasthire

Translation

Sañjaya said: Though urged with the command, “Do not advance,” the opposing warriors—and your own as well—remained stationed just as they were, holding their positions in disciplined restraint amid the press of war.
