महाहवे वीतभयौ समीयतु- महेन्द्रजम्भाविव कर्णपाण्डवौ । दोनों ही अजेय और शत्रुओंका विनाश करनेवाले थे। दोनों ही अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंके विद्वान् और एक-दूसरेके वधकी इच्छा रखनेवाले थे। कर्ण और अर्जुन दोनों वीर इन्द्र और जम्भासुरके समान उस महासमरमें निर्भय विचरते थे
Translation
In that great battle, Karṇa and the Pāṇḍava (Arjuna) met without fear, like Indra confronting Jambhāsura. Both were invincible, destroyers of foes, masters of weapons and astras, and each desired the other’s death.
