तौ तु स्थितौ महाराज समरे युद्धशालिनौ । अन्योन्यं प्रतिसंरब्धावन्योन्यवधकाड्क्षिणौ,महाराज! युद्धमें शोभा पानेवाले वे दोनों वीर परस्पर कुपित हो एक-दूसरेके वधकी इच्छासे संग्रामके लिये खड़े हुए थे
tau tu sthitau mahārāja samare yuddhaśālinau | anyonyaṃ pratisaṃrabdhāv anyonyavadhakāṅkṣiṇau ||
Sañjaya said: O King, those two heroes—resplendent in battle—stood facing each other on the field of war, mutually enraged and intent upon one another’s death.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the moral danger of krodha (wrath): when warriors become mutually inflamed and focused on killing, ethical restraint and discernment are threatened, even within the accepted framework of righteous warfare.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that two opposing champions have taken their positions in the battle, glaring at each other, provoked and determined to slay one another, signaling an imminent and intense duel.
