Bhīmasena said: “O charioteer, bearer of welcome tidings—your report has delighted me. Since you have informed me, O Viśoka, that Arjuna has arrived, I grant you fourteen excellent villages. Along with them, accept a hundred maidservants and twenty chariots as your reward.”
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethic of honoring beneficial service: good news that strengthens one’s side in war is acknowledged with tangible reward, reflecting a kingly duty to recognize loyalty and timely assistance.
Bhīma, pleased to hear from Viśoka/the charioteer that Arjuna has arrived, publicly grants the messenger a lavish reward—villages, maidservants, and chariots—both as gratitude and as a morale-boosting gesture in the war setting.
