अनाश्षचर्य हि तत् त्वत्तस्त्वं हि पार्थ महारथ: । 'पार्थ! सब राजा जानते हैं कि सिंधुराज जयद्रथका वध एक आश्वर्यभरी घटना है, किंतु तुमसे ऐसा होना कोई आश्चवर्यकी बात नहीं है; क्योंकि तुम असाधारण महारथी हो
anāścarya hi tat tvattas tvaṃ hi pārtha mahārathaḥ |
Sañjaya said: “That is not at all surprising when it comes from you. You, O Pārtha, are indeed a great chariot-warrior. Though kings may call the slaying of Jayadratha, lord of Sindhu, a marvel, for one of your extraordinary prowess it is only fitting.”
संजय उवाच
Extraordinary results are not ‘miracles’ when they arise from established excellence and disciplined capability; true greatness makes difficult deeds appear natural, aligning prowess with one’s dharma.
Sañjaya, narrating the battle to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, remarks that although the killing of Jayadratha is widely regarded as astonishing, it is not surprising coming from Arjuna, renowned as a mahāratha.
