एक एव रणे भीष्म एकवीरत्वमागत: । “किंतु समरांगणमें भीष्मजी अकेले ही पाण्डवों और सूंजयोंको खदेड़कर युद्धमें अद्वितीय वीरके रूपमें विख्यात हुए
eka eva raṇe bhīṣma ekavīratvam āgataḥ |
Sañjaya said: In that battle, Bhīṣma alone attained the state of a solitary champion—driving back the Pāṇḍavas and the Sṛñjayas and becoming renowned as an unparalleled hero on the field.
