ते नित्यमुदिता जेतुं मृधे शत्रूनरिंदम । न जात्वाधिरयथेर्भीता: पञ्चाला: स्यु: पराड्मुखा:,“मित्रवत्सल! जो वीर द्रोणाचार्य प्रतेदिन अकेले ही सम्पूर्ण पांचालोॉंका विनाश करते हुए पांचालोंकी रथसेनामें कालके समान विचरते थे, अस्त्रोंकी आगसे प्रज्वलित होते थे, सम्पूर्ण धनुर्धरोंके गुरु थे और समरांगणमें शत्रुसेनाको दग्ध किये देते थे, अपने बल और पराक्रमसे दुर्धर्ष उन द्रोणाचार्यको भी संग्राममें सामने पाकर वे पांचाल अपने मित्र पाण्डवोंके लिये सदा डटकर युद्ध करते रहे। शत्रुदमन अर्जुन! पांचाल सैनिक युद्धमें सदा शत्रुओंको जीतनेके लिये उद्यत रहते हैं। वे सूतपुत्र कर्णसे भयभीत हो कभी युद्धसे मुँह नहीं मोड़ सकते
te nityam uditā jetuṁ mṛdhe śatrūn ariṁdama | na jātva ādhirathyer bhītāḥ pāñcālāḥ syuḥ parāṅmukhāḥ ||
Sañjaya said: “O tamer of foes, the Pāñcālas are ever roused to conquer their enemies in battle. Never would the Pāñcālas, out of fear of Ādhirathya (Karṇa), turn their faces away from the fight.”
