य एक: पाण्डवीं सेनां शरौचै: समवेष्टयत्‌ । त॑ं समासाद्य पञ्चाला भीष्म नासन्‌ पराड्मुखा:

Transliteration

ya ekaḥ pāṇḍavīṁ senāṁ śarauśaiḥ samaveṣṭayat | taṁ samāsādya pañcālā bhīṣma nāsan parāṅmukhāḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: He who, all alone, hemmed in the Pāṇḍava host with a dense shower of arrows—when the Pāñcālas closed upon him, O Bhīṣma, they did not turn their backs. Before a single formidable warrior they held their ground, showing steadfast courage beneath the moral weight of war.
