प्रगृह् विजयं वीरो धनु: श्रेष्ठ पुरातनम्‌ । सज्यं कृत्वा महाराज संगृहा[ च पुनः पुन:

pragṛhya vijayaṃ vīro dhanuḥ śreṣṭhaṃ purātanam | sajyaṃ kṛtvā mahārāja saṃgṛhya ca punaḥ punaḥ ||

Sañjaya said: Taking up the famed bow Vijaya—an ancient and excellent weapon—the heroic warrior, O King, repeatedly strung it and grasped it firmly again and again.
