तथैव युधि विक्रान्तो मागध: परमास्त्रवित् भीष्मेण निहतो राजउ्शेतेड्द्य परवीरहा,राजन! इसी प्रकार शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाला और उत्तम अस्त्रोंका ज्ञाता पराक्रमी मागध वीर भी भीष्मजीके हाथसे मारा जाकर आज रणभूमिमें सो रहा है
tathaiva yudhi vikrānto māgadhaḥ paramāstravit | bhīṣmeṇa nihato rājann adya śete paravīrahā ||
Sañjaya said: “So too, O King, that valiant Magadhan—slayer of enemy heroes and master of the highest weapons—has been struck down by Bhīṣma, and today lies upon the battlefield.”
संजय उवाच
Even the most accomplished warrior—renowned as a slayer of foes and a master of supreme weapons—can be brought down in war; the verse underscores the fragility of martial glory and the inevitability of death amid kṣatriya conflict.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a powerful Magadhan fighter, famed for weapon-mastery and for killing enemy heroes, has been slain by Bhīṣma and now lies on the battlefield.
