Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
न पाण्डवानां नास्माकं योध: कश्चित् पराड्मुख:
na pāṇḍavānāṁ nāsmākaṁ yodhaḥ kaścit parāṅmukhaḥ
Sañjaya said: “Among the Pāṇḍavas and among our own warriors, there is not a single fighter who has turned his face away in retreat.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness in one’s chosen duty during crisis—here, the kṣatriya ideal of not turning away from battle—presented as a measure of courage and collective resolve on both sides.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra on the battlefield situation, emphasizing that neither the Pāṇḍava warriors nor the Kaurava warriors are fleeing; the fight continues with unwavering engagement.
