Transliteration

so 'tividdho maheṣvāsaḥ karṇena balināṃ varaḥ

Translation

Sañjaya said: That great archer—foremost among the mighty—was grievously pierced by Karṇa, marking a decisive moment in the battle where prowess and fate press hard upon the warrior’s duty.
