Sañjaya said: “A mighty wind is now blowing all around your army.”

Even in a narrative of strategy and heroism, the epic repeatedly frames war within larger forces—moral consequence and fate—often signaled through omens. The verse underscores human fragility: armies and plans can be shaken by powers beyond control, inviting reflection on responsibility and the limits of pride.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a powerful wind is blowing around the Kaurava forces. Such descriptions commonly heighten tension and serve as portents, suggesting impending turmoil or disadvantage on the battlefield.
