Sañjaya said: Thus addressed by Dharmarāja, Dhanañjaya replied, “So be it.” He then issued commands to his own troops to prepare for battle, and he himself advanced to the very front of the army—accepting the king’s directive as a matter of duty and moving decisively into the field of action.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights disciplined assent to rightful command and swift execution of duty: Arjuna accepts Yudhiṣṭhira’s instruction without hesitation and acts responsibly as a leader, placing himself at the forefront rather than remaining behind.

After being addressed by Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), Arjuna responds “tathā” (“so be it”), orders his own forces to prepare/advance for battle, and personally moves to the army’s front line.
