Sañjaya said: “Even when I offered seven hundred elephants with teeth like a ploughshare, along with hundreds of male and female servants, that foremost of Brahmins still did not extend his favor to me.”
संजय उवाच
External wealth and extravagant gifts do not automatically earn a virtuous person’s grace; ethical worth depends on the giver’s intention, conduct, and dharmic standing, not on the sheer magnitude of offerings.
