Adhyāya 41 — Kṛṣṇa’s Battlefield Briefing and the Renewal of the Great Engagement

पर्जन्य भूत: शरवर्षर्य था्ग्निं तथा पार्थ शमयिष्यामि युद्धे । “जैसे प्रलयकालका मेघ इस जगत्‌को दग्ध करनेवाले तेजस्वी एवं प्रज्वलित धूममयी शिखावाले संवर्तक अग्निको बुझा देता है, उसी प्रकार मैं मेघ बनकर बाणोंकी वर्षद्वारा युद्धमें अग्निरूपी अर्जुनको शान्त कर दूँगा

Sañjaya said: “As the cloud of the world’s dissolution quenches the Saṃvartaka fire—blazing, radiant, wreathed in smoky tongues that would burn the earth—so will I become a cloud, and with a rain of arrows in battle I shall calm Arjuna, who is like fire.”
