अतीव मानी पाण्डवो युद्धकामो हामानुषैरेष्यति मे महास्त्रै:
atīva mānī pāṇḍavo yuddhakāmo hāmānuṣair eṣyati me mahāstraiḥ
Sañjaya said: “That Pāṇḍava, exceedingly proud and eager for battle, will come against me with great weapons of superhuman power.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how pride and battle-desire intensify conflict, and how the presence of superhuman weapons (astras) raises the ethical stakes of war—power must be matched by restraint and right intention.
Sañjaya, narrating the battlefield events, reports an expectation/assessment that a Pāṇḍava warrior will advance to confront the speaker with formidable, superhuman astras, signaling an imminent escalation in combat.
