Karṇa’s advance against the Pāṇḍava host; Arjuna’s clash with the Saṃśaptakas (कर्णस्य पाण्डवसेनाप्रवेशः—अर्जुनस्य संशप्तकसंप्रहारः)

Duryodhana said: “Those lawless Dānavas, given to wicked conduct, went about laying waste to everything. Even the celestial gardens so dear to the dwellers of heaven, the holy hermitages of the seers, and the delightful provinces—these boundaryless, depraved Dānavas would ruin and defile them.”
दुर्योधन उवाच
The passage highlights how abandoning maryādā—ethical and social limits—leads to adharma that does not stop at personal wrongdoing but expands into the destruction of sacred, communal, and life-sustaining spaces (gardens, hermitages, and regions).
Duryodhana describes the havoc caused by lawless Dānavas: they devastate even the most cherished celestial gardens, the holy āśramas of sages, and pleasant human settlements, portraying a world thrown into disorder by unchecked wickedness.
