Sañjaya said: Casting aside the bow that had been cut, Yuyutsu—his eyes reddened with anger—took up another bow, exceedingly swift in its action and very great in size, resolved to continue the fight without yielding.

Even amid the chaos of battle, a warrior’s steadfastness is shown by not collapsing when a weapon is lost; the verse highlights resilience and continued commitment to one’s chosen side and duty, while also warning how anger (reddened eyes) fuels persistence in violence.
Yuyutsu’s bow has been cut. Instead of retreating, he throws it away and immediately grasps another, larger and more forceful bow, his anger visible—signaling his readiness to re-enter combat without pause.
